Why we do this

Every week we hear the same story from families: a parent who hasn't seen a dentist in years because the journey is too much, a nursing home resident in pain that nobody can pin down, someone living with dementia for whom a waiting room is genuinely frightening. The dentistry itself is routine. The barrier is the travel.

So we reversed it. Our dentists carry a portable chair, lighting, suction and an intra-oral scanner, and set up in whatever quiet room is available. A bedroom, a lounge, a care home day room, a hospital bay. The patient stays where they're comfortable and familiar faces stay beside them.

Who you'll meet

Every dentist who visits on our behalf is registered with the Dental Council of Ireland, holds their own professional indemnity insurance, and is experienced in treating older adults and people with complex needs. The dentist attending will introduce themselves on arrival, and registration details are available on request.

Where we go

All of Ireland. We plan routes so that several visits in one area can be grouped together, which is also how we keep call-out costs down for care homes with multiple residents.

What we're honest about

• We are not an emergency service. We schedule as fast as we can, but severe swelling or bleeding needs a GP, emergency dentist or A&E first.
• Some treatment can't be done at home safely — complex surgical work, for example. If that's the case we'll say so and help you find the right clinic.
• Call-out fees are private. Medical Card and PRSI may cover some treatment, and we check before we visit so there are no surprises.
